A series of thick, hardcover research journals with embossed silver titles and textured matte covers, neatly aligned on a brushed steel shelf within a modern office environment. The journals' spines feature tasteful, understated color accents matching the neutral palette of the room. Soft overhead LED lighting highlights the journals' clean geometry while casting subtle, even shadows along the shelf. The mood is orderly and scholarly, exuding academic rigor and depth. Captured with a centered, slightly elevated angle and crisp focus throughout for a structured, balanced feel. The visual style is minimalist and corporate, aligning perfectly with the professional identity of an entertainment-focused research association.

Our Mission

This research group aims to study the content industry, which represents a traditional strength of Japan and a field with significant potential for further growth.

The scope of the content industry is broadly defined and encompasses forms of entertainment such as video games (including competitive gaming, or esports), sports, music, media entertainment and the arts,

Who we are

The association advances knowledge across entertainment and gaming sectors by coordinating research, fostering collaboration among scholars and industry partners to inform policy and practice.

We bring together researchers, practitioners, and industry partners to examine how entertainment and gaming create cultural, social, and economic value.

Our work includes empirical studies of player and audience behavior, policy and market analysis, and collaborative projects with stakeholders across video games, esports, sports, music, arts, and media entertainment.

By connecting academic insight with real-world practice, the association aims to support evidence-based decision-making and foster sustainable growth in the content industry.
